Shipping Policy

This Shipping Policy explains how Nicolai Bendiksen ("we", "us", "our") packages and ships original artworks worldwide.

Because each piece is a one-of-one original, every shipment is handled with specialist care and arranged individually.

1) Shipping worldwide (Free Shipping)

We offer free worldwide shipping on all original artworks.

Orders are dispatched from Dubai, Denmark, or Spain, depending on where the artwork is currently located and what is most efficient for safe delivery.

2) Ordering & payment

Artworks are not purchased through online checkout.

All purchases are confirmed manually via invoice and are completed by bank transfer or cryptocurrency, as agreed with the buyer.

Shipping will be scheduled once:

• payment is received in full, and
• the delivery address and contact details are confirmed.

3) Dispatch timeframe

Dispatch times vary depending on whether the artwork is ready to ship or created as a commission.

Ready-to-ship originals

Most artworks are dispatched within 2–5 business days after payment confirmation.

Custom commissions

Commission timelines vary by size and complexity. A realistic timeline will always be confirmed in writing before the project begins. Once completed, the artwork will be dispatched after sufficient curing time and safe preparation for transport.

4) Delivery service, tracking & signature

All shipments include:

• Tracked delivery
• Signature on delivery
• Insurance coverage

Tracking information will be shared as soon as the artwork has been dispatched.

5) Estimated delivery times (after dispatch)

Delivery times depend on destination and carrier handling. Typical estimates:

• Europe: 5-10 business days
• United Kingdom: 5-10 business days
• United States & Canada: 5-10 business days
• Rest of world: 5-14+ business days

Please note: these are estimates and may be affected by customs processing, peak seasons, local courier delays, or severe weather conditions.

6) Packaging standards (Professional protection)

We pack all artworks using protective, gallery-standard materials to ensure safe arrival.

Packaging may include:

• protective surface layers (to avoid marks and abrasion)
• corner and edge protection
• reinforced packaging and heavy-duty shipping cartons
• custom packaging for oversized works
• wooden crate packaging when required for maximum safety

7) Ready-to-hang delivery

All artworks are delivered ready to hang, unless the buyer requests an alternative format.

If you prefer a different delivery method (for example rolled canvas in a tube, or special mounting requirements), please mention this at the time of inquiry and we will accommodate when possible.

8) Customs, VAT & import fees

International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or handling fees depending on the destination country.

These fees are set by local authorities and are the responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise agreed in writing.

9) Address accuracy

Please ensure the delivery address and contact details are accurate and complete.

If a shipment is returned or requires re-routing due to an incorrect address, additional handling delays may occur.

10) Missed delivery

Because all shipments require signature on delivery, please ensure someone is available to receive the package.

If delivery attempts fail, the carrier may hold the shipment for collection or return it to sender depending on local courier policies.

11) Damaged delivery (Important)

If your artwork arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at [email protected] and include:

• your invoice reference
• clear photos of the outer packaging
• clear photos of the inner packaging
• clear photos of the artwork and damage

Please keep all packaging materials, as they may be required for insurance claims. We will support you through the claim process and find the best possible solution.

12) Natural variations & texture (Original artworks)

Each artwork is created by hand using physical materials and impact-based techniques.

Subtle variations in texture, edges, and surface detail are a natural part of the work and should be expected as part of the artwork's original character.
